Encouraging personal pride in the things we do and the people we can be.

Here at Tupton Primary & Nursery Academy, each child will receive a passport that holds a number of challenges for them to aim towards.

There are 5 challenges for each of our PRIDE values: Partnership, Respect, Independence, Determination and Enjoyment. The challenges are designed to encourage children to aim high, be the best that they can be and to make a difference, not only to their own lives, but to the lives of others.

We would like our children to learn that stepping out of their comfort zone and trying new challenges is exciting. Children will be encouraged to try to achieve two challenges from each value plus two golden ones. They can, of course, work towards achieving more if they’d like to. The golden ones are really important!  .

Teachers will allocate a time in the week when children can demonstrate that they’ve achieved a challenge. If there is evidence of what has been done, then that would be great to see. They could bring in a certificate or a uniform or post a picture on Class Dojo.

Many of the challenges can be achieved in school, but it would be great if you could also look at how they might achieve some at home.

The teacher will sign the child’s passport as they achieve a challenge and rewards will be earned to show recognition for the efforts they have made.

A paper copy of the passport will be sent home so that you can see the kind of thing the children can do and we’ll keep the actual passport in school and update it regularly.

We hope your child enjoys taking on the new challenges and experiences!
